It was obvious from the get go that Clara raises Aussies for the pure love of the breed. Her dedication to maintaining the highest standards is living proof in our tri-red male, Nicky who will be 2 yrs. this July 30, 2010.

I never knew a dog could have such wonderful innate traits and love so deeply. I can just about read his mind, he is so able to communicate what he is thinking.

It's a joy to do him justice by providing the training and play and seeking fun he needs to keep that brain of his occupied. And he's just as happy to be a couch potato too, if I'm feeling poorly. He just wants to be with me.

Thank you Clara. I can hardly believe I was so lucky as to have such a extraordinary canine companion share my life.

We picked up our puppy last year in early October when he was a bit over 10 weeks. We went to pick up a black tri female.... but when we arrived at Windrift, there was this beautiful red merle male sitting under the tree like Ferdinand the bull, smelling the flowers and watching intently all of the shenanigans going on with his sister pups!

This is our third Aussie, first male. I am pleased that we got a red merle, the other two were blues.

We named him Brix; it is the measure of sugar in fruit and vegetables that signals when the harvest is ready for picking. We sure got a sweet one. And he is also spirited, lovely and smart. He gets comments everywhere we take him, and though at 8.5 months he is going through some wildness, he is also a perfect office dog, can be amazingly calm, and so very smart.

We have to exercise him pretty vigorously each day which has done wonders for us too, and we do it gratefully because he gets us out to the local parks and is so much fun to watch running like the wind.

Someday we hope to drive him up to see Clara, because she will be very proud.

We have a Male Black Tri, Maverick, born October 18, 2008. He is absolutely beautiful! and he is extremely smart. He travels like no other dog I have ever had and is a wonderful companion. My father, Courtney is a very interesting and accomplished man. However, now 80 years young, he recently had several losses. He had separated from his long
time sweetheart. He has had some medical issues. He was coping okay until his Australian Shephard, Molly suddenly died. They had been best friends for 16 years. My father was devastated.

Several months after Molly had passed-my dad contacted Clara, and was looking for an Australian Shephard puppy. After Clara got to know about some of my dad's background, etc. she did not recommend a
puppy for my dad.

Instead, she matched him with a 5 year old Australian Shephard named "Seiko."
Seiko was beautiful-immaculately groomed and cared for. Her coat was so shiny it sparkled in the sun! When I introduced her to my dad-there was an instant connection. She has a sweet personality
and she is extremely loyal. My dad called me the other day to say when he
came back to his place-she leaped in the air with joy and danced about the room.
I cannot describe how this dog has uplifted my dad's spirits and gives him a new purpose and meaning in his life. Thank you Clara, for your unselfishness
in placing this precious and well raised

It is hard to believe it has been a year since Brady has joined our family. We have to tell what a joyful year its been. He puts on quite a show at any dog park with his speed and agility. Brady gets along well with most every dog but he is still shy with unfamiliar men. He does great on and off lead and has been a wonderful mentor for the puppy, Nice Life Zoey Grace (Zoey). Both Brady and Zoey have completed basic obedience training. Brady completed the intermediate class as well. They are best buddies. Brady couldn't have made a better choice for us when we decided to get a second puppy. Thanks again. Your dogs are wonderful.

Hi Clara:
We love our 9 month old puppy, Foster, whom we got from you in January, 2008! He is from Kenny and Cotton's litter, and weighs 50 pounds now. He is just the sweetest thing and so smart. I have never had a puppy before and while it has been trying at times, it has also been very rewarding. He graduated from puppy school back in March and is now in private training and doing GREAT. He is very eager to please and is very attentive and inquisitive. He is such a gorgeous, friendly dog and I have been asked several times where we got him and refer people to you all the time. He is a very good boy and he loves to play ball and is a great good retriever too! I run and walk with him every morning and night and always look forward to it. We have had a lot of fun adventures already, including meeting up with Foster's brother, Buddy, who lives near us, and he is still only less than a year old. We feel so lucky to have Foster and I can't imagine life without him. Thank you for placing him with us - he is a very important member of our family and we love him tons!

I really enjoy checking in here and reading up on the Windrift Aussies. Here's an update from us. Clara matched us with Koby a year ago when he was 19 months. He is full of life, loves to play, loves to learn and is very affectionate.

He recently passed his Canine Good Citizen test and is in the process of getting registered as a therapy dog with Pet Pals. I have brought him to my father's assisted living home and the residents love to pet him and watch him perform his tricks. He's quite the entertainer!

Koby is a wonderful companion to all members of our family (including our cat) but he has a particularly special relationship with my 9 yr old son, Zachary, who has autism. We are training Koby to be an assistance dog for Zach. With the guidance of a service dog trainer, Koby has learned to help keep Zach safely at our side when we're out in public. He can identify when Zach is anxious and knows to stay by his side and comfort him. And right now he is in bed with Zach helping him fall asleep.

Once a week, Koby and I take agility classes. It's our special time together away from our busy household. We do it just for fun but he would likely do well in competition because he is so fast and accurate. One of our classmates recently told me he loves to watch Koby jump. He said "when Koby jumps, he looks like he never wants to come down". What's nice is that Koby has so much energy and enthusiasm when it's time to play but is otherwise a very mellow guy.

Clara continues to be there for us whenever we need her advice--from helping chose the right dog to answering lots of questions and even visiting during Koby's first days in our home. A few months ago when we were considering bringing a puppy into our home, Clara helped us think it through carefully. I'm so glad now we didn't jump the gun. Koby really enjoys the company of other dogs, but Clara was right that at least for now having him be a single dog in our home is best for all of us.

I'm looking forward to reading more about the wonderful windrift Aussies here :)

A few weeks ago we adopted Gavin, an 8 month old red merle from Windrift. We currently have a 3 year old blue merle male aussie and had lost our black tri male to cancer the year before. Although I had my heart set on a puppy, Clara suggested we come meet Gavin as he might be a good match from everything I had told her about us. It took my husband and myself (and our 3 year old dog, Jay-Z) only a half hour to realize we had found the perfect dog, companion and playmate. Gavin has adjusted perfectly to our family and everyone who meets him adores him! His temperament is awesome, he has such a sweet disposition, he is absolutely gorgeous, he is fun and funny, and we are all madly in love with him! I've already taken him to dog training and he is incredibly bright and responsive. We were very impressed with all of Clara's dogs (we also fell in love with Inky) and with Clara herself who has been extraordinarily helpful. We will definitely recommend Windrift to our friends and couldn't be happier! Thank you Clara!!!

We just love our Windrift Aussie. We had a wonderful Australian Shepherd for 14 years. When she passed away this fall we were devastated. She was the first pet we had as a family and we all felt a great void. Through our internet search we found Windrift. When we contacted Clara to see if she had any dogs availabe, she had two litters of puppies and an older dog available as well. Clara took the time to hear our story and showed us the litters and a male Aussie that was 17 months. We fell in love with him. Brady's transition into our home was wonderful. He has been a joy to have and we are so pleased with our decision to "adopt" an older Aussie.

We received our dog Guido, from Windrift in 2003. He has been a constant joy and a huge addition to our lives. He is extremely intelligent and always lets us know when something is out of the ordinary is going on around the house. Our home and property are very large so he keeps very busy. Early on Guido learned to open doors. One day our yellow lab was outside the glass door barking to come in. I was in the next room and Guido opened the door before I got there. He also has a lot to say when it's important. We have all learned that we should never dismiss it when he comes around and starts to bark. It's amazing the different tones and sounds that he makes when he vocalizes. We all swear he's going to speak one of these days! Thank you Clara for such an amazing animal. We're coming to visit today in the hopes of finding another friend for Guido.
